Partner Code 128979 for AvaTrade: What You Actually Get
People message me about partner codes all the time. Always the same thing: can you get free trades or lower spreads?
Nope. AvaTrade charges zero commission on forex. You pay the spread. That's your trading cost. A partner code has no impact on website spreads.
What 128979 does is unlock the welcome bonus. Bonus money added to your account based on deposit size. Nothing more complicated than that.
How much do you get?
Put in $1,000, receive $200 bonus.
$2,000 gets you $400.
Deposits between $5,000 and $9,999 get $1,000.
Top tier is $14,000 on deposits over $100,000. Most people won't hit that.
British traders get £160 bonus on £800 deposits. Scales up to £11,200 maximum.
Account minimum is $100. Bonus requires $1,000 minimum.
The code field isn't obvious
During registration. Below the phone field, there's a small link saying "Have a Partner Code?". Click on that text. A text box appears. Type **128979**.
People overlook it constantly because it's hidden.
Sometimes it shows as invalid, don't worry. Go ahead and register anyway. Message your account manager before you deposit. Tell them you want 128979 applied. They handle this regularly.
The bonus has conditions
You need to trade a certain volume.
Around 10,000 units per dollar of bonus. $200 bonus requires 2,000,000 units of trading volume. Can take time with smaller position sizes. Active traders hit it quicker than expected.
Your own money stays yours. Withdraw it whenever you want. Bonus funds remain locked until volume is met.
Something useful to understand: while the bonus is locked, it still counts toward your margin. You can hold larger positions than your deposit alone would allow. That breathing room helps while you're learning.
